What’s climate change doing to your psyche?

Although we hear about climate change every day, we actually know more about its impact on the planet itself  than we do about its effects on our mental health. In this Tidings from Hazel Kahan, climate psychology experts talk about what climate change is doing to our human psyches. (First broadcast on WPKN July 14, 2021)

  1. A most interesting, perceptive and valuable talk, ending with the voice of children who are perhaps most affected by what they feel threatened by. In relation to the rights of Nature, there is something called Charter for the Earth which has been established for some time but not yet recognized by governments and corporations.

  2. forgot to add my ancient and mostly abandoned blog link to this but it does address variations on the theme Hazel defined so clearly here

  3. A brilliantly and deeply informed perspective. Its — our –reality is a humbling and heavy trip to absorb about ourselves. Likely we’ll be truly humbled as we become ever more aware of our vulnerability to Mother Nature. Fires there, floods here. That Great Mother which human nature takes so much for granted. It is for us all to take these truths to heart and if nothing else, reduce our demand on Earth’s resources in our own inevitably complicit and comfortable lives…Thank you Hazel….

About Leafages

"Credo" statement

Leafages by Hazel Kahan are made from real leaves, vines and tendrils interwoven with calligraphy, decorative pen and ink flourishes and imaginary Latin botanical names. Leafages contain a philosophical or inspirational thought, quotation or verse from sages, poets or religious texts. Some leafages are specially created for an individual, a couple or a family with words or leaves reflecting their personal narrative. They are available on the Leafages shop on Etsy although the supply is low right now, all my energies having been absorbed by the book I’ve been writing. Do come back soon when the shop will be full of new leafage abundance or contact me.
