Born in Jerusalem, Robert Massoud, is a Palestinian-Canadian activist, entrepreneur, who came to Canada as a child. In 2004, he founded Zatoun, a grassroots organization to support Palestinian farmers in the West Bank by promoting and selling their olive oil in North America for fair trade prices. Speaking to us from Toronto, Robert explains why Palestine continues to be an issue and conflict for the world. (WPKN, January 5, 2026)

As an advocate for the meaning and for the exceptional quality of Robert Massoud’s Zatoun olive oil, his perspective of Palestine and its people is a fascinating one and new to me. And very welcome in its message advocating human caring and qualities vs.the increasingly, soul-less, systemic patriarchal profit-driven power-trips ever more dominating the globe today, and c/o the AI tech-take-over which is upon us.
As an old Brit I maybe selfishly grateful the English language is so universal but the historic reasons why are the last thing to feel proud of ~
