Leaves can be immortal: there are some that don’t crumble or change color or disintegrate like most others
Some are like leather or wood and can stand up to me writing write all over them. These are “autograph” leaves from Hawaii. I was at a lucid dreaming conference and decided to take notes on these leaves. I attached them to a piece of bamboo and hung them on my wall.
I’ve also used sea grape leaves from Florida and the Caribbean–this huge one became a canvas for my artist’s credo. They are so robust that sailors used them to play cards once upon a time.
