Robert Massoud: why Palestine continues worldwide as a conflict without resolution

Born in Jerusalem, Robert Massoud, is a Palestinian-Canadian activist, entrepreneur, who came to Canada as a child. In 2004, he founded Zatoun, a grassroots organization to support Palestinian farmers in the West Bank by promoting and selling their olive oil in North America for fair trade prices. Speaking to us from Toronto, Robert explains why  Palestine continues to be an issue and conflict for the world. (WPKN, January 5, 2026)

  1. As an advocate for the meaning and for the exceptional quality of Robert Massoud’s Zatoun olive oil, his perspective of Palestine and its people is a fascinating one and new to me. And very welcome in its message advocating human caring and qualities vs.the increasingly, soul-less, systemic patriarchal profit-driven power-trips ever more dominating the globe today, and c/o the AI tech-take-over which is upon us.

As an old Brit I maybe selfishly grateful the English language is so universal but the historic reasons why are the last thing to feel proud of ~

As always, thank you Hazel for digging as deeply as you do into the complexities of the human condition — for better and worse!

About Leafages

"Credo" statement

Leafages by Hazel Kahan are made from real leaves, vines and tendrils interwoven with calligraphy, decorative pen and ink flourishes and imaginary Latin botanical names. Leafages contain a philosophical or inspirational thought, quotation or verse from sages, poets or religious texts. Some leafages are specially created for an individual, a couple or a family with words or leaves reflecting their personal narrative. They are available on the Leafages shop on Etsy although the supply is low right now, all my energies having been absorbed by the book I’ve been writing. Do come back soon when the shop will be full of new leafage abundance or contact me.
